Seitdem haben sich die Handelsbeziehungen von ABB zu China beträchtlich entwickelt. 1974 gründete ABB ihre chinesische Geschäftseinheit in Hongkong, gefolgt von einer ständigen Niederlassung in Peking im Jahr 1979. 1994 verlegte ABB den Hauptsitz von ABB China entscheidend nach Peking. 1995 wurde ABB (China) Co., LTD offiziell gegründet.
